Rules:
The rules and 47 event format of the Prince‑Mont Swim League will govern the conduct of this meet with the exception of the scoring below for the four competing teams.
Scoring:
Teams may score only two swimmers per individual event. Individual events score 9‑7‑6‑5‑4‑3‑2‑1 for first place through eighth place. Teams may score only one relay team per event. Relay events score 18‑14‑‑12‑‑10 for first through fourth place.
Awards:
The Bowie City Meet Trophy is awarded to the first place team (the trophy is rotated among winning clubs). A trophy is also awarded to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams. Ribbons will be awarded to swimmers placing first through twelfth according to their actual place of finish.
Protests:
The results become official three (3) days following the conclusion of the meet. Any protests must be filed with the league representative of the host pool within three (3) days of the end of the meet. Protests shall be acted upon within 48 hours of receipt by a committee composed of the league representatives from the participating pools and the referee of the meet.
Rain/Thunderstorms:
1. If the meet is stopped due to electrical activity on the first night, we will wait a maximum of one hour from the time swimmers are pulled from the water. If we cannot resume the meet within one-hour time limit, we will go to the rain date. A majority agreement of the Team Reps can extend this one-hour time limit in 30-minute increments. If we resume the meet and additional electrical activity occurs, we will immediately postpone to the rain date.
2. If, on the rain date, electrical activity occurs, the rules above will be applied. If additional electrical activity occurs preventing swimmers from re-entering the water, the meet will be declared finished.
3. The meet will be official and the team trophies will be awarded if, on the rain date, events through the breaststroke (Event 28) have been completed. No winner will be declared and no trophies will be awarded if this condition is not met. However, all City Meet records for completed events will stand.
